Face to Face Counselling

Counselling in Perth and Edinburgh

Face-to-face counselling gives us a dedicated space to slow things down and talk about what is going on for you.

We would meet at specific address in the counselling room at a specific time regularly (based on your preference/needs and what is appropriate for counselling process).

There would be 2 chairs and sessions are primarily conversational but can include creative approach, journaling or mindful approaches where appropriate and suited to help you explore issues you would like to discuss. None of the offer is though mandatory and we can discuss what works and doesn’t work for you.

I use counselling room in Perth, Scotland close to North Inch on Fridays and on Easter Road, Edinburgh, Scotland on Saturdays.

What would be happening in the counselling room?

Basically we would talk.

The counselling room provides a confidential space, where you can speak up your thoughts, express your feelings and explore what might feel difficult to talk about elsewhere.

Depending on your personality and issues you are bringing to therapy we can talk only or we can as well sometimes use different interventions – I like to work with journaling, creative and mindful interventions and sometimes I use helpful worksheets or meditation if appropriate.

There is no obligation for using any offered interventions and we would discuss what feels suitable and right for you. This is solely up to you according to what works for you and would be a matter of discussion we would have on the initial consultation and throughout the sessions.

Is face to face therapy for everyone?

Face-to-face therapy can be suitable for many people, but it isn’t necessarily the right option for everyone. This also depends on the therapist and what they are qualified and experienced to work with.

At the moment, I work only with adult clients in private practice, depending on the issues you might be bringing to therapy (see below).

Is face to face therapy suitable for any mental health issue?

This depends on the therapist and their area of experience.

Face-to-face therapy may not be the most appropriate option if you are experiencing active suicidal ideation, active substance or alcohol addiction, or circumstances that make attending regular sessions difficult to maintain safely.

Over the past six years, I have worked with adults and children experiencing a range of different issues, such as:

  • Life transitions
  • Feeling stuck or disconnected from yourself
  • Feeling overwhelmed or under pressure
  • Neurodiversity
  • Self-worth, self-doubt and external expectations
  • Identity and figuring out what you actually want
  • Difficult relationships and boundaries
  • Periods where life is changing and your old ways of coping aren’t working anymore
  • Feeling that the way you have been living isn’t working anymore

How much does it cost?

My fee for face-to-face counselling in the counselling room is currently £60 per 50-minute session.
